To help our clients use the Listening module more effectively, we’re bringing a few updates with a release on April 20, 2022.
What’s new
The monthly mention limit as well as monthly query regulation changes to annual.
What are the benefits of the new updates
The switch to a yearly limit will allow you to distribute the queries throughout the year according to your needs without major limitations and use them to monitor time-specific campaigns and significant events.
To give you control over the pace of mention spending:
- We’ll alert you by email and in-product notification when you reach 50%, 75%, 80%, 90% and 100% of your yearly limit.
This way, you’ll know how fast you’re collecting mentions and you can adjust your queries if needed.
These notifications are sent to account admins and users with edit rights for Listening. If needed, they can be turned off individually in the notification section in Settings.
- In every step of the query settings, we’re displaying a bar that informs you about how many mentions of the yearly limit have already been spent.
- In every step of the query settings, we’re showing a Twitter-based preview of mentions that includes information about how many mentions would have been collected in the last 30 days. As Twitter usually generates most of the mentions, you can use the number to estimate the expected amount of data for your query.
- We’re informing you about the number of mentions that would be used for the Twitter historical backfill in various steps of the query settings.
If running the query hits the yearly limit, we alert you repeatedly to make sure you don’t miss the information: - In the preview section, the progress bar turns red and on hover informs you about the number of mentions spent and available.
- In the preview section, we inform you in a progress bar that the Twitter historical backfill may not be complete because running the query would use all the remaining mentions.
-
- If you hit Finish, we alert you again that running the query will use all your available yearly mentions.
You can decide to run the query anyway or go back and change the settings.
- If you hit Finish, we alert you again that running the query will use all your available yearly mentions.
