When setting up the data sources for your query sets and queries, there are three sources to choose from – Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
All three are selected by default. However, in the third step of our query wizard, you can combine them in a preferred way and adjust what to monitor according to your needs.
You can turn each data source ON and OFF by clicking the blue toggle on the right. However, at least one data source needs to be chosen.
There’s also the option to enrich or narrow down each data set in the advanced settings. You can get there by clicking the small arrow on the extreme right of each data set toggle. Please see the options for each of the data sources below.
For Facebook, there are two options of how to set up the data sources. You can use the Socialbakers data package and/or add specific Facebook profiles. You can combine them in a preferred way or, if you decide you’re not interested in Facebook, you can turn the whole Facebook data set off.
Socialbakers Data Package (default option)
The Socialbakers data package is an extensive, growing database of social media posts, the same we use in Content Hub’s Inspiration. It includes billions of posts, but still not all Facebook content. You can narrow the data package or enrich it by adding specific profiles.
The advanced options for Socialbakers data package are:
- Option to filter by specific country only.
- Option to exclude specific Facebook pages.
Specific Facebook pages
Another possibility is to add specific Facebook pages you would like to monitor.
After turning this option on (clicking on the toggle button), there is an option to search for pages by their name, paste their URLs or choose from the list of currently monitored pages.
You can add additional profiles for all Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter combined. But keep in mind that profiles included in the Socialbakers data package will count towards the 25 pages limit.
For Instagram, there are three options of how to set up the data sources.
You can use the Socialbakers data package and/or add specific Instagram profiles and/or use the Instagram hashtag search.
You can combine them in a preferred way or, if you decide you’re not interested in Instagram, you can turn the whole Instagram data set off.

Instagram Hashtag Search:
Instagram hashtag search is a way of getting access to Instagram public content tagged with a given hashtag. You can combine this search with other sources or use it exclusively.
Every month you can actively use up to 100 hashtags as a data source in the Instagram hashtag search. The limit considers every hashtag that was active during this time, no matter how long.
Learn more about the Instagram hashtag search and its limitations in this separate article.
Unlike for Facebook and Instagram, Twitter works differently than other social media, and thanks to that, you can access public Twitter content without any limitations of the Socialbakers' Data Package.
The advanced options for Twitter’s public profile are:
- Option to filter by specific countries.
- Option to filter by specific languages.
- Option to exclude specific Twitter handles.
Specific Twitter accounts:
You can choose specific Twitter accounts as a data source. Search for handles directly when creating the query set, paste the URLs, or choose from the currently monitored accounts list.
You can add up to 25 additional profiles for all Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter combined. Profiles included in the Socialbakers data package don’t count within this limit.
