Monitoring owned LinkedIn profiles is easily done in Socialbakers with the support of the LinkedIn API. In this article, we want to share the news that LinkedIn has recently launched new and improved permissions and reorganized API capabilities. The aim of the upgrade is to enhance usability for partners, and transparency and privacy for members. All social media marketing vendors in the social media management space, including Socialbakers, will operate under this new set up starting in April 2020.

What does this mean for you?
This upgrade requires immediate action on your part. To ensure uninterrupted activity for all your LinkedIn profiles in Socialbakers, you will need to connect its owned permissions to the platform. Please do so by the end of March. In this article, you can read how to connect an owned LinkedIn profile to the platform, step by step. Should you need any help, please don’t hesitate to contact the Socialbakers support team.
LinkedIn profiles that do not have the required permissions connected (so-called “public” profiles) will be removed from Socialbakers in April, following the official upgrade of the LinkedIn API. If you have any questions about the LinkedIn API upgrade or how to connect LinkedIn profiles to the platform, please contact your account manager.
